    Clark Vertex and Whoopie Slings?

    Hi guys.
Yesterday I have set up my new Vertex hammock but I really don't like the suspension lines that comes with clark hammocks. So I wanted to change the original ones and install some Whoopie Slings. But I can't figure out how to do this...

It was no problem with my NX-250, but the vertex has a cord between both suspension lines at the head end of the hammock that protects the fabric from getting to much tension after you have set up your hammock. And I really can't figure out the best way to include this cord by installing the whoopie slings.

Has anyone of you already installed some whoopie sling on a Vertex hammock?
If so, could you tell me (or even better show me somehow) the best way to do this?

    Thanks in advance

I have the Vertex and so far the stock suspension after all the trips. I plan to swap to webbing from Dutch but can't see any reason the split-limiting strap would pose a problem with any suspension. Just run it the same way or I'd you are threading a continuous loop simply include it in the loop. That is how I plan to do it.

I also thought it won't be a problem

Ok, here are some photos to explain what's the problem:

This is how it should be. The split-limiting strap is near to the drip ring.
To do this on one side is no problem.

    Here the 2nd side:
To get the strip-limitation string next to the drip ring I would have to put it through the loop, but that's not possible, because the other side of the strip-limitating cord is already fixed on the other whoopie sling.

As long as it keeps them from allowing a tear I don't think it's going to be an issue. If you are using trees that aren't forcing the strap apart then it isn't even being used.

Or you could slip Caribiners through the chanels and lock it to that. One warning Clark gave me when going to whoopies is the tighter pull will result in more bunching and possibly calf-ridges. They said the hammock will handle whoopies with no problem. I'm debating putting on the biners just to spread the fabric as I found it did affect my nx-270. The vertex still has the stock suspension.

Hey, this is a great solution! I would never have thought about slipping a carabiner through the chanels.

Thank you very much for your tip!
I will do it that way

Oh, and thanks for the warning about the possible calf-ridges, too!

Welcome. Going to run a biner through my NX as well for the same reason.
