    I feel so ashamed

I am leaving tomorrow morning for an overnighter with my 6 yr old and 11 yr old sons. It will be an 8 mile trip at Mouse tail Landing in Linden Tn. That is not what I am ashamed about, it is the tarp tent I have packed and not my hammock. I have one, the 11 yr old left his hanging in the backyard and it got eaten by the dog. So that leaves him ground dwelling. I figured it would be best to sleep with the youngest one also.
I will post a trip report with pics when I return to tell ya'll of the fun and how sore I was sleeping on the ground again.

Sorry to hear that, too. Well, it will be extra sweet the next time you get to hang.

For years, I had to sleep in the tent with my daughters. No shame in that.

There will be plenty of hammock camping in the years to come.

Enjoy making those special memories with your kids! Have fun.

One of the purposes of HF ... to hear your confessions
To get out with the kiddos ... it's worth going to ground ... all is forgiven ...

Feel bad that is, and terrible, and miserable....how could you!!!

What part of TN you live in? you close to Nashville? I have a couple of extra hammocks HH type if you live close. I would be happy to loan them.

no shame in doing what you gotta do to get out camping.

No hammocks at Philmont Scout Camp. Too bad. But get out camping anyway.

Spouse who won't hang, and is unhappy on family outings if you do. Too bad. But get out camping anyway.

Keep the youngins from freaking out at the night sounds so be right next to them. Ya do what ya gotta do, and they'll treasure the time with you.

so long as those night sounds aren't TOO scary...
