    Grand Trunk Ultralight

I see this hammock is on sale today, anyone have anything on this hammock?

I'm looking to buy my first hammock. I am a side sleeper. Grand Trunk Ultrlight is on sale for $19 but don't want to buy something I'm going to use once because of an upgrade.

At 9'6" long by 4'6" wide, it's not very big. If you're a little feller, you might like it. However, I'm 5'11" and I would find that hammock too short and not wide enough.

aaahhh....ok, I'm only 5'7" but don't want that to be an issue. Thanks for pointing that out.

It's on the shorter side at 9.5', but makes a decent starter hammock especially if you switch out the s-hooks and bulky line with something lighter (I use amsteel continuous loops). I've only ever seen it retail at $20.00 though.

Yeah, I don't think it's on sale either. It's on the Grand Trunk website for $19.99.

It came across my facebook feed fro National Hammock Day. I have since closed out of it, I don't remember who had it for $18. Doesn't matter now since I'm not going to get it. If I see it again I will post the link. Thanks.

Mine is only 8'6" where it counts. GT includes the "suspension" (cord and S hooks) in their length spec. It's too short for anyone bigger than a toad.

Had one for years. Was my first hammock...close out at REI. Fine for lounging and reading a book but no way I could sleep in it. 5'10" 185 lbs.

They routinely sell on amazon for $13.99, generally the green color only, other colors are more. The price goes up and down though.

It was my first hammock I bought. I never slept a night in it. Just a little too short. For something to throw in your pack on a day hike it's fine, or for a kid it's perfect, but I'd look for a little longer hammock. If you want a cheaper pre-made hammock, Wildhorn Outfitters sells an 11 footer on amazon for like $25 or so, and Yukon Outfitters hammocks are on woot.com for cheap as well.

I have a grand trunk ultralight, a Yukon Double. A Yukon Freedom v2 (got for free), and anot 11 foot dutchware. The dutchware is by far my favorite. It's not much more $, and is just a great hammock.

Every day is a good day.
