    Salutations

I'm a student in NYC whose originally from north Jersey, and I live here through the summer with my parents. Just getting started, I want to formally say hi as I've been lurking quite a bit as I consider options to buy my first hammock setup.

Welcome from the balmy south. Get your gear and get out there. It's a beautiful world so go hang in it.

Hello and welcome to the forums from Marietta GA. I'll echo TSlug: get your gear and hit the trail!

There are so many options and it can be daunting, but at the end of the day it's simply hanging a piece of fabric between two trees and laying in it. Try not to overcomplicate the process.

    Happy hanging!

Great piece of advice. I was up in Vermont this week, I was able to go out and buy a Hennessy Hammock for real cheap, and I spent a few afternoons hanging, still have yet to test it out overnight in my backyard since its so darn hot!

Happy to report I tried hanging last night out there, and I had a wonderful sleep.
