I have no knowledge of hiking in Canada, but just looking at google maps, the Algonquin Provincial Park looks nice.

Here is a great map for Algonquin. http://jeffsmap.com/
I have been to Algonquin 4 times, but all were canoe trips with some hiking. It is a nice park lots of lakes, but you want to wait till later in August to miss the bugs, and hang your food high. I went in at Canoe Lake and around the Tom Thompson Lake area.

That would be great. I really want to get a super light canoe to do more trips with portages, but can't afford it right now. And late august, is that late enough? I guess it depends on the weather and how the summer played out.

There are many outfitters that you can get a canoe from. Our church outfits people for $275 a person, that includes everything. All you need is your clothes. I can get the information if you want.
