Hi all, I am joining the forum after being a lurker earlier in the year while gearing up for the AT. Now that I'm done, I can join in on the fun of talking hammocks.
I was never able to get a proper night's sleep with a hammock but I do like using them to lounge around and relax. I think hammocks are like a super comfy lounge chair; it's something I enjoy but not necessarily something I want to sleep on for hours on end. I ended up switching to a traditional tent (blasphemy!) but held onto the top quilt for the duration of the hike. I am looking to check out different hammock systems just for the enjoyment of them!
