I was explaining my hammock and its use in the WMNF to friends here in New Hampshire. They like to hike and camp quite a bit. So I pulled my HH Explorer out, and hung it in their front yard. They understood immediately how much easier it is to find stealth hangs than stealth tent sites. Then each climbed in, curled up, and audibly groaned with pleasure.
We have two new converts. Like shooting fish in a barrel.
The funny part was that while we were doing this, a woman neighbor was driving past (on this very quiet residential street). She stopped the car, came over to look at this thing, asked a bunch of questions, was dumbfounded at the elegant simplicity of the idea, and went on her way converted.
