Question/Advice on hanging a Shade Sail

Hi all, I came across your forum, and was really impressed. I had no idea there was so much info out there on this.

While I'm not a big camper, hammock-er, or outdoorsman, I'm hoping you might have some good advice. I'm hanging a shade sail above my pool (Houston, TX), and used parachute cord. From your site, I learned this wasn't the best choice, after a few days and some rain, it's stretched and is down way too low now. Any thoughts on a better rope to use? And the best knot? I just did a couple regular knots, but saw from your site and The Ultimate Hang that a Beckett Hitch may be better. I'm connecting right to an eye hook with a turnbuckle to tighten, but could connect to a carabiner and then to the eye hook.

A couple pics are attached, thanks for any advice!

    Jeff

I use heavy duty bungee cords to take up the slack on my shade sail.
