I just found this old thread and couldn't resist adding to it. Here is the nifty little Olympia (by Brother) that I inherited from my wife. I think it must have made from a hollowed out anvil, and then lead weights added for ballast. It is a nifty little stitcher though.

When I have to use two layers of silnylon, then I move up to this one:

And for three layers, this mo-sheene can definitely inject thread wherever I want it!

Nice collection of thread injectors! Is that middle one a Consew 206?

You have a quite few chisels as well!

The middle one is an Adler 65 that I use for making chaps and light tack. I bought it while stationed at Lemoore NAS in about1972. The bottom one is a Ferdco Pro 2000 heavy stitcher used for building saddles. It is perfectly capable of stitching leather stacked 7/8" thick.The tools behind it are some of the many special edgers, stitching groovers, fids, spikes and assorted toys used in my business of building custom saddles and tack. Sewing cloth, especially the really light stuff, is almost like learning how to sew again. Being able to re-do a stitch line is something new for me. When you run that row of stitches in leather, those holes are there to stay, right or wrong!

Here's mine. Singer, manufactured date 1909 Treadle table made 1850-1880. All metal rods/gears and such. I've sewn four layers of denim with it for short seams. Handles very light ripstop just fine also. Table is missing drawers, but I wanted a "user" not a "collectible". Over 100 years old, and works just fine. I paid $75 for both pieces together from an Amish man. It will probably still work after I'm gone. Finish on the cast iron table is just fine, what you see in the picture is dust I neglected to remove before the picture.

I know a lot of people shied away from Kenmores, but I got the whole kit and kaboodle for $40. So what the heck. If it dies it dies, but I made my hammock and my tarp with it so far! The Free Westinghouse was my Grandmother's. I know I can get the drive wheel and bobbin winder wheel rubber that I need, and I can make (modify) the power cord. But I have not been able to locate the bobbin case. I have the bobbins, but I'm missing the case. I would love to use this machine, as it has been used by my Grandmother, Mother, and Aunt.

I have 2 machines. The first is an old kenmore from 1948 in the cabinet--works like a dream--everything with it and my fav part is that there is a leg press instead of foot pedal. Paid $25 for it 10 years ago at a garage sale, felt bad for robbing the guy who sold it to me and never looked back. The cabinet finish was in rough condition(looks like someone tried to iron on it) and so it is taken apart right now and completely sanded down, I am in the process of refinishing the cabinet. The picture i am posting is one i found online of my machine.
the second is a brother cs--6000i computerized, plastic, but works amazingly well. I have used it to make a few odds and ends so far. I can't complain it was free to me and it is holding me over until I get the other one put back in the desk.
once the cabinet is done I will post a picture of my beast back in working order...lol
