Nothing to see here. Keep moving.
Looks familiar! I got exactly the same machine from my mother when she decided to buy a fancier machine for quilting.

Caminante, son tus huellas el camino y nada más... - Antonio Machado
When I first started looking for a machine I was sure it had to be a vintage Singer. I found a decent 404 and spent some time learning how to work on it and in a couple of weeks had it running well. About a year later for some reason I did a quick Clist search and found this old Kenmore with cabinet for $25. Just needed a belt and some cleaning/oiling and it's awesome.
Not a piece of plastic anywhere, by far my favorite, no longer looking for the right machine for me.

What is a thread injector?
Is it the same as a sewing machine?
I'll never call it a thread injector. A power tool, yes. Here's my freearm New Home I picked up for $20, like new. Great sewing machine. Built the table myself and reupholstered the $5 thrift store chair too.P4240050.jpg
I use the term thread injector for purely comical reasons.... As I believe most do as well. I have no problem saying sewing machine, or owning four of them. It would be my opinion that there are very few who "won't" say the term , and more so people just using "injector" or "power tool" in jest, humorously highlighting the dated American majority culture view on masculinity. If someone refused to use the words "sewing" and "machine" together, then yes, I definitely agree with you. I love my machines and they are beautiful.
I understand my fellow hammocker. Lol people are joining and getting into DIY every day, this may be their first time reading about what a "thread injector" is.. I think it is pure fun, with a hint of deeper sociology.. Especially for these people who are getting started at age 50 and grew up in a different era of gender roles in society.
