The Spurtle stand (inverted T legs) takes up less floor space than tripods and is a lot cheaper to DIY than $250.

I know this is 3 years after the original post. I own one of these. I like it. I bring it with me when campimg at PA state parks and at KOAs where i cannot scout the site before reserving. It has saved me several times where tree location was less than optimal or non-existant.
It only really works with the hammocks the same length as an Eno Doublenest. The stand has 8 tent pegs to secure the standin the ground. Without them it can wobble so caution should be used if setting up imdoors. It also takes up ALOT of space, about 4 feet wide and over 12 feet long. Im 300 lbs, 6Â’ and i can swimg gently while laying in the hammock without the stand wobbling. An Eno Profly will cover the stand from top of quadpod to top of quadpod. It did keep me dry in the rain but the sides were a little short even with them tight against the hammock but above the ridgepole. I still need to experiment with that. Now there is also the Nomad shelter system which is available for aboit $250 extra that is a like a bug net with a floor and a fly that fits over everything
thanks for the review. The nomad sounds interesting.
For $75 more you can get a very nice "fit any size" hammock stand.

So, IF you do have an ENO length hammock and find yourself on a festival spot with no trees, you might as well just wait for the first stronger gusts of wind and use the poles from these flimsy and soon to be abandoned pavilions / marquees like the blue one in the image. This makeshift stand worked like a charm and didn't cost anything.

I used two hammock chair stands to make something similar. I have a review with pictures at the link below.

I consider myself handy around the workshop so I tried several DIY stands and most were not worthy of taking out of the workshop. I finally bought stands made by a reliable hammock equipment company. One is the ENO Nomad stand I bought for my wife. It is not overly heavy for car trekking, goes up quickly and easily, had a 5 year old at the park help and he caught on right away. Keep in mind that is is not a portable stand in the way you might expect. It takes up space, is pretty much limited to flat terrain and to certain size hammocks. If if works for your sties, yes it's a great stand and the price is reasonable. The stand I bought for myself is the Tensa4 and I love it.
