Very cool, but you might want to test it in the wind and rain. One thing that might not be good is the ground sheet. The rain coning off of the tarp and/or driving in underneath it will collect on the ground sheet. You can become soaked very quickly this way. You may want to make the footprint of the sheet much smaller.
One other thing…. if the wind is howling and the tarp is flapping madly, the pole could actually lift off the ground and come out of place. The tension of the guy lines will help to prevent that, but may not be enough. One thing that could help is an extra stake at the bottom of the pole to help keep it from moving.
Anyway, not trying to be critical, just helpful. I have sometimes thought of a similar setup, but I always camp in and around trees so it is not really an issue for me. Always good to have options though! I think any hammock camper should have a "go to ground" plan just in case. You are going the extra step of putting the plan into action beforehand, which is great!
I did something similar not too long ago. It's a good ideal to experiment with your gear and learn what your options are with what you carry.

Give me more folly said the fool,
Give me stone silence said the deaf man,
I didn't believe Sunday School.

I camp 12 months a year in North central Florida with my Scouts. A bug net that fully encloses you and hangs below the bottom of the hammock works best for me.
Using a net that just draped the hammock or pulled up tight to the bottom of the hammock allowed the bloodsuckers to bite through the single layer hammock.
I don't use an under quilt in the hottest months. The hammock fabric absorbs the sweat and when the wind blows it is like air conditioning. Feels great!
