Oh I'd be more than happy to help with construction...I just don't have any tools anymore - as you well know, Tim A stand shouldn't be hard at all though...I've built entire houses before

I have to have a deck on the back of the house to put the hammock stand on to attach the hammock to first! I guess my wife has her priorities and I have mine! BD

Ed's book, IMO is an invaluable resource for the newbie hanger. I bought it and reading it saved me a bunch of heartache and other aches too, I'm sure. He just wants to spread the wonder of hammocks to everyone who enjoys the outdoors, kinda like a hammock evangelist or something. Maybe he's the Billy Graham of hammocking. Preach it, brotha!

I just bought a peapod (off his sale page) from Ed. Ordered it Thursday, shipped Friday, got it Monday. Great service from him. He answered every email of mine about my disasters in hanging his hammock. No complaints at all about him.

Tim, I bought the 900 fill 2.5" loft peapod. Ed said he rated it conservatively at 45°. I believe it will go lower than that. IMO with the DAM 7 I won't need anything else other than my sleeping bag to get in the single digits. Guess I will find out

Ewker - I was good into the teens on a windy night (Mt Rogers) using ONLY the Exped Downmat 7...I bet you can get to zero or below with an Exped+PeaPod.

Don't forget that you'll probably still need a top quilt for temps below about 50F.

Jeff, you used just the DAM 7 and a top quilt?? I thought you also used an underquilt at Mt Rogers
