Hutzelbein, that's what I was thinking. I'd probably just go with a mayan hammock instead. Thanks for sharing your experience.

I have a hammock that I bought in Mexico. it's very wide...easily over 70 inches wide and 12 feet long. it was made to sleep 2 people at once. I like to lay in it perpendicular to the ridgeline, and it's a very comfortable hammock.
I also have a snipe hammock from wilderness logics that's 58 inches wide. it's just wide enough to get comfortable for me.
im very happy to own both hammocks. to each their own!
I just got my extra wide 11' Dutch today and been experimenting with it. I've concluded that the extra width is simply a waste. It's no more comfortable than the standard width for me.
However, in windy conditions the extra fabric my be handy for pulling over me to block the wind.
But over all, I think I like the regular hammock better. Good experiment though. Now everyone in the family has a hammock and that's the main thing! And my daughter has Ridgeline lights...it just can't get any better.

I had an ENO doublenest deluxe which was super wide, the sides just flop around and it's pretty annoying.
