The area is Charles Deam Wilderness of the Hoosier National Forest. It is pretty easy to get to, you'll want to look for the Firetower parking lot. I've never stayed at CV2, but I am familiar with the Deam.

It is a hike and hang, but if memory recalls (from previous posts) it is a 1.5 mile hike in from the firetower.

No problem with numbers at the CV2 site, Mark6. It's a pretty big valley. I just hope we have some water.

I'm new to the forum, but I'm interested. I know the Deam pretty well, but I don't think I've been to CV2. Very familiar with the fire tower. Is that the meetup? If I come up on Sat. night, do you guys have GPS waypoints for getting out to the hang locale?

Do a search for Halloween, look for the 2015 Halloween hang. The GPS coordinates are in first post.

I am tentatively in! We may hike in late Friday. Can someone start a signup sheet as in past threads?

Here is rolloff' spots from last year.

You should be able to use this link to run the definition as far in and out as you might need.

H ~ Hickory Ridge Fire Tower Parking Lot & Main TH.

B ~ Sycamore Branch Loop TH. Go Right.

F ~ Turn off SBL and begin bushwhack to CVII. Turn left into woods, just before Campsite #2 sign.

Continue hiking through woods, keeping creek on your right. There will be one obvious small shallow creek crossing. Keep hiking for another five minutes or so and the forest will eventually open up into an open valley. Fire pit is located across the clearing at the base of the ridge. Camping is any where you can find a few trees and there are lots and lots of trees. Plenty of room.

    D ~ Fire Pit

There is a short cut with a smaller parking lot available. I've never used it, so I'll let someone else handle that. It's shorter but all down hill in which makes it all up coming out. If you have a lot of food or raffle toys you don't intend packing back out all by yourself, this might be an option for you.

I am planning on making this hang. Aiden will more than likely be with me. I too am looking forward to seeing you all again and meeting some new people as well.
