    Constant breeze

I'm out on a quick overnight trip right now and I'm hanging at a conservation area on a river. There is a steady breeze coming off the river making my diamond rainfly flap about a bit. I'm supposed to have good weather tonight, can I just ditch the rainfly?

Sure, if there's no rain and not a lot of sap falling put that thing away.

It sure does and less racket so you can enjoy natures music. Plus you can hear if a gator is crawling up

It's all a calculated risk. I've gone sans tarp before, also been woken up by raindrops on my face too. A couple of times, I didn't get the tarp up in time. Many people set it up, then release half of the tarp and tie it back, usually the side with the better view... Which makes putting it back to full coverage really easy if the weather changes in the night

That's what I ended up going with. No more flapping but I can put the one side back out if I need to if the weather changes (this is Florida after all). Great view and nice breeze. Thanks for the help.

My cheap hammock has a bug net but I kept it tied back until the breeze died down around 10 pm.
