Try adjusting your thread tension on the top thread. RamblinRev has some really good advice on a thread here about trouble shooting Thread injector issues. Good luck. And Post some pics when you get done!

Turns out the machine was just plain old busted and the parts to repair it aren't made anymore. It was the bobbin basin that had a retention piece snapped off. SO I wound up buying myself a new machine at JoAnn's (Singer Talent 3321). Worked great on both projects. The flaws in the stitches were of my own inexperience not of the machine.
Less damaging than pins and binder clips are little plastic "Wonder Clips". They work really well with ultralight and slippery fabrics.
Whoa! I had no idea ripstopbytheroll had so much info! There are so many different kits and tutorials I don't even know where to start! This is really exciting.
Agreed! If you have questions the chat feature on their website is really nice and they're insanely fast to respond by emails. Heat cuts were a little sloppy on the tarp (had to peel some sections apart), but it was cut...so can't complain since I didn't need to do it. Shipped within an hour of the order and got here in 3 days. Remember patience works wonders on these projects...had to rush this one since I'm heading out this weekend on a trip, had 2 days to get a hammock tarp and bug net done. Results? Can't complain. They work!
