My take on the water absorption of the dyneema/polypro straps, for what it's worth: having completely submerged them in a dyeing attempt, I can say they dry pretty quickly. Chalk that up to synthetic fibers that aren't very densely woven, I suppose.

I just received my 4 foot Dutch poly dyneema (black and white striped) tree huggers.I will use the blue Spyderweb 2.0 straps and a beckit hitch or a Dutch Marlin Spike or both if necessary to hang the hammock and gear hammock. The Spyder 2.0 is stronger and lighter than mule tape but I intend to use both just to make a comparison.I went with the tree hugger in the mix because I was not happy with the Spyder 2.0 on the tree as it did not seem to give the bark the same protection as the dyneema poly strap.
