Permits are available at the Slade Shell station at the intersection of 15 and 11 or the visitors center and a few other locations. Don't plan on finding water at or near the trail heads but it is available to filter from streams down in the gorge. Plan on taking at least a liter or two to start and I would leave some hydration waiting for when you get back to the car.
Weather report was showing a low of 55* Friday night and and high of 82* Saturday. We got all of that and more, it got colder than that in the gorge overnight so be prepared for the temperature range to swing for colder sleeping and warmer hiking.
Hope you have a good trip.

The weather was glorious for us this weekend. We had two cars so we parked one by Pinch em tight, drove to Sheltowee and hiked back through. The park was crowded Saturday and we decided to come back late in the afternoon.
