You know, I purchased one from the For Sale section here on HF. Someone had custom made it.
I thought, "Awesome!! shaving 6 oz" (or whatever it was).

I took it on the PCT this year and I hated it.
It was not as wide as my Hennessey or WBB (I prefer the WBB) and I had difficulty turning in it.
So make sure you know how WIDE you really want it.

I also took a Knotty Mod mosquito net as it was light as well.
I found it to be a PIA, but effective for night sleep.

It was a lot of work to get into it, not to mention , if the mosquitos were out, I would eat under the netting.
But that was an acrobatic task in itself! Make the food. Try to fenaggle my way INTO a narrow hammock,
then pull the final netting over me.

When I got off trail, I gave it to a 23 yr old who was going to Hawaii for 3 weeks.

Dutchware makes a hammock in Hexon 1.0, which is as light as I know. Some others may chime in with other suggestions.

Butt in a sling Weight Weenie Micro is a really comfy hammock, but I don't know how it compares to the Dutchware Hexon.

Do you know the dimensions of the hammock you hated? (I'm thinking of making my own and I don't wanna' go too small.)

ripstopbytheroll.com has some really light weight fabric to make a Hammock if your into a little DIY

But beware of light weight as if your not a light weight person you can easily run into a failure of the material.....to the point that makers of hammocks have abandon using such materials.
Choose wisely respective of your weight less you end up on the ground

I have some Robic 1.0 XL fabric from RBTR I bought back in February. It's supposed to be stronger than most 1.0 and 1.1 ounce fabric. I'm not sure if I'll ever make a hammock out of it, but I do have the fabric!

I just made a 11' 1.0 robic xl DL (16oz) and that shaved about 6oz off of my previous DL 1.6 ripstop regular width. I like the xl stuff but your gonna want the knotty mods. For me at 240# single layer 1.6 or dl 1.0 is about as light as I'm comfortable going.

I'd quote a certain book, but that is not allowed.
