That was it.
That was it.
I just received my door kit and had similar questions for my cloudburst tarp. There are no split rings on the underside of the tarp- so I used the d-ring pullouts. The shock cord is not long enough to cross the entire length of the tarp and attach to the ridge line (like is shown in the video)..so I attached the shock cords from opposite end doors. Does this work for people? (I haven't camped with it yet)
We got rid of the underside rings, the door hinge is plenty stretchy and it easily stretches the extra 1" needed to get from the Ridgeseam's metal split ring down to the ground corner/plastic triangle-ring (if you have a D ring you have somebody elses tarp, we have never used d-rings). If the mitten hook on the door hinge pops then you might be trying to install an Edge door kit onto an MJ and you should contact us to verify you have the right size door kit, because it should not be tight enough to pop the mitten hook
Make sure the grey corner tab of the door is attached to the plastic tri-ring (unless I have that backward and it attaches to the metal split ring on the end of the Ridgeseam....It's been awhile since I've used the door kit...consult included directions for the right answer)
There is a tiny gap at the top, and there would be a gap there anyway where the suspension exits the tarp, but you're not going to get wet though that tiny opening.
If you lengthen the Shockcord out to it's absolute max with say 1" of tail at the cordlock it should just reach to the opposite metal ring, check and see, if not there could be some variance in stretch between different batches of shockcord because it used to be just barely long enough to reach
Big MJ and MJ are the same tarp, we just simplified the name
The BMJ did have the underside rings and also round panel pull patches (instead of the "V" shape)
thanks warbonnetbuy. you're my hero...
Yup, I have had mine for about 6 years. Mine is one of the rare made in China versions that Brandon had made overseas. The BMJ did have the underside rings and also round panel pull patches (instead of the "V" shape)
The day I got it, we had a major snow storm.
