    Grand Trunk Onemade?

Anyone had any experience with the new Grand Trunk Onemade hammocks?

    https://www.grandtrunk.com/collectio...nt=19128559939

I'm a bigger guy pushing 300 and currently use one of the regular Grand Trunk doubles with no problems. I've got a trip coming up and was contemplating the ~6oz savings, even though their "proprietary blend made of 1.1oz Ripstop Nylon, tested to hold 40lbs of static weight per square inch" seems thin. Then again, so do whoopie slings to me, but I'm going to give those a go as well! So how 'bout it - anyone own one of these things care to share their thoughts? Can't find a ton of info out there on em.

    Thanks guys!

Looks expensive and very wide. You could get a Dutchware hammock for cheaper.

It weighs almost a pound. Like Silvr said...order a Dutch instead. Less expensive, and lighter. His single layer 1.6 Hexon is 12 ounces, $42

Also, Dutch's hammocks are 11 ft. long, as opposed to 10 ft. 6 inches for this hammock. While I use some 10.5 ft. long hammocks, I prefer 11 ft. long hammocks.

It's not a cottage industry hammock, so it's immediately junk.

Just kidding! Kroma and SS made a good point. But I have started to cut Grand Trunk some slack after trying their 10.5 parachute hammock. It's the most comfortable I've tried to date. Only 2oz heavier than my Warbonnet Traveler.

Regarding this model, I think 15.7 is without the suspension. With a standard webbing/buckle that would put the total around 22oz or so. Not terrible.

Although I don't have one, I keep finding myself eyeing the Dutchware hammocks when shopping for bling, so I'm going to recommend the Dutch hammock based on my window shopping.

Side note: when looking at the link for the Grand Trunk hammock, I noticed their line of 'herb' hammocks. Kind of cool IMO, but maybe not what the OP is looking for I suspect.
