Agreed with the above. In my own experience, the shock cord can be a pain in the butt. Removing it makes packing into a stuff sack a lot easier without a penalty in function. I did find it helpful to replace the cord with some webbing, mostly as a way to be able to easily find the bottom opening of the net when setting up. Also helps minimize abrasion when I need to hang my ridgeline a bit lower than usual.
