Yet another product to consider (tarp tie outs)...

While camping with Turkey (Ed) and Squirrelbait (Aaron) at the end of last month, Ed showed me some fancy shmancy new line he was using for the tie outs on his cuben fiber tarp. Neon yellow in color, low stretch, really light weight, super strong, Dacron, water won't affect it, etc. The more I looked at it, the more I thought to myself "Man, that looks exactly like my bowfishing line." I'm almost positive it's the same stuff and have cut some pieces off of my bowfishing set up to use on my own tarp. I can't recall where Ed said he got it, and I'm not sure it's cheaper buying it this way than wherever he did, but a 75ft roll of the stuff is under 20 bucks. Just thought I would share this here in case anyone is looking for a different option to try when it comes to line/rope/etc.

One of the reviewers said it tangles easily.

Well, maybe that fella had issues with tangling, but I've been using it on my bowfishing set up for about 10 years with zero tangle issues. And I've also never had to replace it. Same line for a decade. I'll give it a try on my tarps and see how it goes, then report back after some time with it this fall. Just wanted to share it here as another option.

I see one of the other reviewers shot a 12' 10" gator with it.

For 8 bucks more you can get this and have a ton of line. Comes in six lbs on up to 300. I want to try some of the 100 lb test for guy outs on my tarp.

Ed's stuff looked like the line from Zpacks but I could be wrong. I did like the looks of it.

Have you actually used this? Would be interested to see a close up pic of the line.

I would rather be in the woods... my dog would rather be in the pool. My wife thinks we are both nuts.

I think that is similar, or same, as Tacblades was using here.

The description on amazon says it's braided. I wonder how easily it can be used for continuous loops, fixed eyes, etc.

The heaviest (300lb) is only 1mm. That's so small, I'm not sure you could do much. Then again, I know next to nothing about that kind of stuff you guys do with lines.
