Cool Greetings from the middle of...

Hi everyone. I'm new HF and thought I would give a shout out to all you hangers and ground dwellers. I'm new to hanging and I have to say... I don't think I can go back to a ground dweller. I truly enjoy the outdoors and everything it has to offer...It give me my sanity back.
I work full time as a field paramedic and full time as training officer my company, so I'm in the office around 80+ hours a week. I'm married to the most amazing nurse a man could ask for. Why is she so amazing...She puts up with my shenanigans. My family is not the outdoors type, something about when they were little and I scared them in the dark under their bed...JK. Any way I'm from a small town on the Missouri and Arkansas boarder and I love it. I have two beautiful states that offer the best of the Ozarks in my front and back yard. I enjoy a fine single malt scotch parried with a fine cigar. Nothing to me is more relaxing than sitting by a warm fire on a cool fall night while you sip your malt and puff your stick. My dream has been to hike the AT trail form Springer to Katahdin, but I can leave my family for 6 month, so I will section hike it over the next few years. I am currently working on the logistics to start next fall from springer and go to the GA/TN line. That's pretty much it, keep on hanging.

Hello and welcome from Marietta GA. Thru-hiking the AT has been a long time but so far unattainable dream for me as well. Happy hanging!

Welcome from SE PA. Would love to do the thru-hike...but it likely wont be a possibility until retirement. Unfortunately, by the time I am able to retire...the retirement age will be 350 years old...and I'll be long dead. So Sections I shall do!

Welcome to the forums. Enjoy the addiction. I'm with Squeaker on this.....my guess i will be able to retire when i'm dead. I wonder if i could be buried hanging in a hammock in a mausoleum.
When the wife asks, I simply say "Shug made me do it".
