No problem asking this as it's a good thing to ask. You also help support the hosting of this forum which for a non product forum has costs associated with it.

Totally makes sense. I'd much rather spend $10 than yo have to look at pop-up ads all over the place. Sorry if it seems like I started a $hi*storm on your thread by asking the question. I'm sure there are people here who know the ins and outs of forums in general and this one specifically. I am not one of those people...hence, my (what I THOUGHT was a) simple question. I try not to make assumptions about other people's knowledge level when they ask me questions about something. Maybe I'm a strange cat...

    Thanks for answering my question.

No worries what so ever. Sometimes things get misinterpreted on message boards and things get taken the wrong way but we are all here for the same reasons and that's to learn more about staying off the ground

Yea, the site doesn't do a lot to advertise the added forums that non members do not see. So hopefully this will get a few guys to join up on the non hammock forums.

But you're right, it's not much at all, for what you get.
Medium size Big Mac meal here comes out to exactly $6.66
It's not to be trusted. Better to just invest that money, plus the additional $3.34, in to a HF membership.

In the past a lot of discussions about the Contributing Member status. There was discussion about accountability for the donations for this site. I think with some members of HF this is still a bit of a touchy subject.

Personally, I like it when sites I use and support clearly state their status and how contributions are used. In my opinion Out and Back was clearly stating how contributions ate used. I appreciated the clarification.
I contribute anonymously, the way I contribute to other groups I consider worthy of my $.

Wow, you guys are making it hard to recruit new Donating Members I run a web site and would love to have monetary help running the site as this isn't free. But hey back to the main reason and that's to share ideas and talk about things other than hammocks.
