How do you keep your face warm

    Guys,
We finally had a cool night here in the south so I slept outside and it got down to 39. I used my 20° Ghost Pepper LocoLibre top quilt and my 3 season full length Lynx under quilt. I slept very warm but I had issues keeping my face warm. Do you guys from the colder areas just use balaclavas to keep your faces warm? I was trying to test the quilts so I didn't hang a tarp and we had a slight breeze all night long. I can't wait for our first frost so I can see how the 20° does below freezing.

I use a buff pulled down to my nose. I think some call it 'the blind chicken'. lol.

Down to about 10F I don't use anything and have never really had a cold face. Once it gets cold out I'll use a buff or neck warmer pulled up.

My go-to draftstopper anywhere in the hammock is a simple cottom shemagh (AKA "coalition scarf"), a simply indespensible piece of outdoor kit... (Scarf, shawl, hat, face mask... You name it. The list goes on...)

In REALLY cold weather, I use the Masque... (Shug does some really finny skits wearing one of these in his videos!)

Nothing on my face down into the 20's. When it is chillier than that I'm usually inside my TNF sleeping bag with the hood cinched and a buff pulled up over my nose.

I usually pull my smart wool cap down, it covers right to the end of my nose if needed. If I need to supplement I'll put on a buff for my neck and lower face.

I generally will just lay my fleece jacket or my wool capote (depending on season) over my head. Hats/ balaclava I reserve for really cold weather sleeping as I really hate constrictive things over my face and especially neck.

I use a ski mask, the kind with a hole for each eye and one for my mouth. It covers my nose but leaves my mouth clear to prevent condensation issues.

I don't like things on my face either, usually once its cold enough to want it, I'll use my down beanie, and I burrito my hammock, this leaves a gap to let moisture out and fresh air in. Only had moisture trouble occasionally when doing this, it would ice up around the air gap. Many times I'd wake up burrowed inside my quilt, and find my beanie under my back, but I never start out that way, only do it in my sleep. Oddly, I never had moisture issues inside at all from this, it seemed to all wick to the surface of the quilt. Mostly I didn't experience much condensation last year, I remember a few foggy nights where everything was damp and a couple where ice crystals had formed on the inside surface of my tarp as well as around the gaps of my hammock burrito But never condensation inside my quilts, always was dry inside
