    When Camping Outdoors Isn't Enough

I got a hammock stand for my birthday earlier this month and have been enjoying it indoors ever since. My wife has given me a deadline when it has to be removed from our bedroom, so I had to take this photo for the memories.

The hammock stand was only $40 and has been working great. It is over 60 lbs, made of steel, and has a spread of over 15 feet.

    "deadline"?

I wouldn't have gotten a deadline for removal... it never would have gone up! (Indoors, at least!)

I had to chuckle at seeing the tarp strung up inside the house.

Must be time to repair that leaky roof.

My loving, kind, caring wife tolerates the hammock in the bedroom. I'm pretty sure the tarp is out of the question, tho. I know she frowned at the woodstove I fired up in the morning.

Loose the tarp and make sure the hammock gets folded away during the day, she'll probably be more understanding. I think it was the third day when my wife had to do the "Limbo" under the hammock, that's when I had to pack it away during the day.

Oh, the tarp was temporary. I was attaching some DIY self-tensioners when I took the photo.

The hammock stand is temporary too, at least inside my bedroom. I was using it as I was making hammocks for my kids for Christmas gifts. This is really the only reason my wife was tolerating the stand in the room for any length of time.

    "But it's for the kids!"
"Fine. But once you're done making the hammocks, it has to go."
    "*sniff* Okay..."
