    Mesh Baffles

Do you guys prefer sewing through one or two layers of noseeum for baffles? From what I know, some people fold over the edge of the baffle material and sew through both layers for strength purposes.

My experience, consisting of just two quilts, is that one layer is fine. This is with a little over one year of use, so I'm not working with a large sample set or much time.

double layer actually strengthens the stitching. Helps the sewing machine do it's job easier.

The material will have the same breaking strength at the stitch no matter how many layers there are. It will be a single layer of mesh meeting the stitching if it makes sense,

Short stitches and proper thread tension are far more important.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong about this...

A single layer has servred me well through several quilts (even using title in at least one)

No need to hem/fold over the edge. The mesh doesn't fray, so you don't need to protect the edge.

From a strength of tearing standpoint, you'll always be at the mercy of single layer strength - which has never been an issue for anything I've made.
