    Ridge Runner setup

I going to be pulling the trigger on a double layer ridgerunner. I already ordered a a 3S Ridge creek on special moving sale. So a few opinions are needed. I have a Hennessey Hex tarp, Ozark trail self inflating pad, closed cell foam pad. I camp three seasons so far but temps go down below freezing in my seasons. Mostly motorcycle camping. I do ride year round.

What pads would be recommended with this setup?
Also looking for a new tarp and recommendations?

    Thanks

Here is my video on RR.....
I have slept in mine with a pad and was comfy. Used a Gossemer Gear thinlite pad once in warmer temps and have napped usung my REI Stratus pad. https://www.rei.com/product/895084/r...r-sleeping-pad
You can double up pads to increase warmth.
But have also used my underquilts and was toasty and comfortable.
Tarps...he sells the Cloudburst desighned for the RR. Also the Superfly will work.
    Carry forth.

The Cloud Burst was designed for the Ridgerunner so I would recommend that for 3 season camping.

I bought the Winter Haven Tarp from http://www.simplylightdesigns.com/ for my Ridgerunner and love it. While it will not reach the ground I had Jarred move the tied outs to more closely match the bar locations of the Ridgerunner and use the top pole mod to pull our the tarp and it works great.

I just picked a RR up as well. The Cloudburst are definitely made for the bridge bease of the pull out spacing.

The cloudburst tarp works very well. I also have a UQ winter dream with pullouts. Just pick a tarp with tie outs spaced where the RR spreader bars are and it will work!

I had the Cloudburst and sold it in favor of a SuperFly. Having the doors and little extra coverage for me was a big benefit.

For pads I've used a pretty wide variety. My favorite is the Wiggys but they're bulky and heavy. This might not work for motorcycle camping but out of a car/truck they're quite opulent. The extra width makes them kind of a tight fit in the sleeve but the great thing about the bridge is you can put the pad right inside the sleeping area just like using it with a cot.

I know I will be using the 3/4 length Ridge Creek for UQ so the pad would be to make up the difference. But will any closed cell foam work (I know Arrowhead uses EVA foam and ThinLite Evazote® foam) for their foot pad or should I use a longer torso pad under legs. My fear is cold feet.

I am using a Hennessy Hex which is 143" RL and 120" wide. It seems all the WB Tarps are shorter. So I wonder if I really want to got super fly or go to Under Ground quilts or another who make 12' tarps. I am really thinking of getting the SpinDrift so do I really need doors?
