    Rethinking my SLS

So I'm getting ready to order some Amsteel to make a single line suspension (SLS) as seen in Headchange4U's sticky and Grizzes video but I'm having one issue. Is there a knot that wont slip on the rings when the line is loose and stuffed in a sack. I really dont feel like having to adjust the ridge line length every time I pull the hammock out of the bag if the line is going to shift on the rings. The best I can come up w/is doing a four wrap around the rings and holding in place w/some quality tape??? Any info would help.

The if you use clove hitch it will stay in place.

i am thinking of going this route to but have been toying with the idea of making each end of the main rope into a whoopie sling.which would go through the loop on the tree strap.has this been tried?does it sound feasable?

    Yes its possible.

How will you attach the slings to your straps? Biner, toggle?

if i get some dutch clips i was thinking of passing the whoopie rope through the strap loop as the sling is being made.so the straps are allways attached.or maybe just use a biner or a toggle.is there any clips like this around?like a dutch clip on one side just a hole on the other .the whoopie would be threaded through the hole side of the clip as its being made.

With that system, you are stuck with using the entire length of your tree strap, making for less hanging flexibility. If you don't want to go the toggle route, consider one of the cinch buckles being offered by Paul at Arrowhead. You could build the whoopie around it, and still suck it up against the tree.

Edit: And you won't walk off and leave a strap on a tree.

LT, if you have the strap and you have the the whoopie, why not just use the marlinspike? Marlinspike offers you more adjustability/flexibility.
