Using a zero degree underquilt in the summer. Tips and tricks.

I have a zero degree Warbonnet Wookie. I was wondering if there is a way to use it year round? One idea I had was adding several inches of leader on both ends of the UQ suspension, to purposefully loosen the fit and let more air get between the UQ and the Hammock. Any ideas?

I use mine year round also. I just vent the sides if need be but never had a problem. I just use a lighter TQ.

Sounds like your idea would work. Or throw something down in it to pull it away from the hammock. Use less insulation on top as well.
    Carry forth.

I used a 20*TQ without an UQ in the summer. That was more out of necessity than preference as I didn't have anything else... I have since built some CDT sets that should be plenty sufficient in the warmer months. Though the set seems to be the same bulk and maybe a little more weight than the TQ alone... it should negate any over night chills I may get on my underside.

Do a search for PLUQ. It's a very affordable way to make a summer under quilt.

vent the sides? or the head & foot?

How do you "vent the sides"? I understand venting the head or foot by loosening the bungee cord to allow air to enter from head and foot but not sure what venting the sides is? Thanks.

I took a nap in my basement today for about 90 minutes. It's about 66° down there and I used my new 0° short Incubator just for fun. No problems whatsoever.
