I live somewhat nearby and can try to snag the group site on Friday morning. If I can get a site, I'll be putting a tent on it, then heading back home until the evening when my wife gets off work 'cause she wants to come. I could put up a sign there for all the hammockers so y'all can figure out which site I can snag for us.

Once I get it, I'll also post it on here for those who won't be leaving home until later.

For those that know me, this will come as no surprise...

I took a recon trip a few weeks back and unless I looked in the wrong place the group site doesn't have many trees. We might be better off getting several sites in the water only area if they are available. How many of us will there be? Usually there is a limit of 8 peole per site.

Ok, I count around 19 confirmed and 2-3 that didn't quite commit to coming. My plan is to be down there on Thursday by 1:00 pm. It looks like we'll need at least 3 sites. Unless any object when I get up on Friday I'll run down and try to snag 3 more sites in "Hammock Forums" name. When you check in just ask them which ones we have. Having never been to Ratcliff Lake I'm flying by the seat of my pants, so if any of you that know which sites are better for hangn' speak up. Also, if anyone has a preference about electric/no electric let me know and I'll do my best. Anyone else planning on being there on Thursday?

Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or play with it, just pee on it and walk away.

Well, if you plan on being there and taking care of this, would you mind pm'ing me a cell phone number (if you have one) so I can get the site numbers from you so I can post them on here once you have them reserved?

This place is new for me, too. I've driven past it a few times in the past 2yrs, but I've not stopped in for anything. So unfortunately, I don't have better recon on it.

I'm bringing firewood, and will need an LZ for the trailer as close as possible to the fire pit.

LOL! I can't help but laugh.

Guys - when Dave says he's bringing firewood, trust me when I say that you will soon experience what the term "motherload" truly means.

So Dave, does this mean you're bringing enough for an entire week again? Ha-ha!

Alan - you should know better than to ask that. He still has wood left that traveled to Arkansas.

Whoever gets there first - the water only sites should be best suited to our needs.

Alas, I still have to work all day Friday, so we won't even be rolling out of DFW until around 6, so we'll definitely need to know the site to look for in the wee hours of the morning when we finally arrive.

Fortunately, we're well-practiced at setting up in the dark
