Make sure you use a strong low stretch line as the rr is hung pretty tight compared to a gathered end hammock. Tighter than 30 degree angle. I use a ridge line and would have it no other way.

How would you install a ridge line in a RR? I want one to hang my phone, thermometer and night light.
Does anyone use their tarp crl as the de facto ridge line? My first choice before hacking the net would be to try and use tarp over ridge line.

If you're willing to make a small hole in it you can. The webbing that attaches the split rings to the netting. Measure the two split rings for lenght of ridge line. Punch it through the webbing and run it through to the other end and do the same. Tie a loop on each end of ridge line and loop it over the split ring. Or tie it to the split rings. When you guy out the bug net, you'll have a ridge line inside your netting. I haven't done it yet, but that's my plan. I'm thinking 1.75 Lash -it and a small leather punch or even a really small phillips screw driver. Just punch it through the webbing and push through the seam.

I use a ridgeline on my Jacksrbetter hammock. It runs from one end of the apex of the suspension triangle across to the other. I hang the hammock and then attach the ridgeline. The ridgeline length is my "comfort" length for the hammock, which is 9' 1" to 2". I use the ridgeline to pull the bugnet off my face and to have a ridgeline organizer. I store the ridgeline in the mesh pockets of the hammock.
You should make it adjustable. If you have a tight pitch on the webbing, it is almost impossible to get enough slack to tilt the cinch buckles back to loosen the webbing. I had to remove the spreader bar once to get enough slack to loosen the webbing. After that I made my ridgeline (lash-it) adjustable with a UCR.
The ridgeline is above the bugnet between the apex triangle buckles. If you install a ridgeline under the bugnet by poking small holes in the net you risk ripping the bug net getting in and out of the RR. I made a ridgeline that goes between the bugnet tie-outs but if you try and hang anything the least bit heavy it just pulls the bungie out more and sags the bugnet. I guess that's why Brandon added the saddle bags for storage.
See posts 3 and 9 in this thread for attaching a light duty ridgeline that can be used to hang small items on.
