0 deg Wookie used in cold weather yet?

    Hi all,

Anyone actually use their Wookie 0 deg under quilt in very cold conditions yet? How was it? I am thinking of making the purchase I have a WBBB and a 20 deg HG under quilt and kind of like the idea of being able to just fit the lovely Wookie onto my hammock with no problems. Love the idea of a biased cut which all along I wished I had as my quilt tends to fall off my foot box so the Wookie will probably solve that. What about all that extra fabric? Is it bulky?

Any info would be good. I am doing a hang in beginning of Jan and want to have a good UQ so I don't have to layer 2 of them. Thanks

With lead times, I don't think you'll receive a Wooki in time...

Yep, I'd contact Brandon and ensure you would receive this in time. You do not want to wait a minute longer if you do. The current lead time is listed as 2-3 weeks.

I've only taken it down to 16.3* F, so not "Very Cold," but it worked well at that temperature (with 0* sleeping bag).

not answering your question directly, but backyard testing at 28 degrees in my 3 season wooki and I was toasty...and I am cold natured...

Extrapolate from that as you will...

I have the 3 season WOOKI XL for my WBBB XLC. The quilt is rated for down to 20 degrees, but I slept in it at 18 degrees recently and was comfortable. Based on that, I'd expect that the zero degree rated winter Wooki would indeed work just fine at zero degrees and it wouldn't surprise me a bit if it worked fine even lower!

(I was using an UQP and a SuperFly tarp with the doors closed.)

I have the zero degree. I've had it into the low teens recently. I stayed warm all night with no cold spots. It even did well after driving rain soaked one side of it. I never even noticed until the next morning.

I had a little bit of a chill when it got pretty windy. I think I need to improve my site selection a bit. This was my first winter trip, so lots of lessons learned.

Site selection can make a big difference. Also, when it's going to be windy it helps to pitch your tarp tight and low to block more of the wind. Also, an underquilt protector helps, too.
