    Vertically Hung Cat Cut Tarps

So much easier, I'm kicking myself I didn't do this sooner.

We used to use Goodwill bed sheets, but this year I applied the simplicity of Line-Locs (thanks Ripstop!) with a white catenary cut tarp hung vertically for a taut, weather-proof, winter-camping movie-screen. (And of course I could see the ski movies from my Hammock )

a lot of high end projection screens in my old university are all cat cut. To reduce manufacture costs they don't sew end channels. they sew grosgrain loops about every 8-12 inches and tension a cable through them. it also ensures better tension distribution throughout the screen

Most projection screens in the production world are slightly stretchy but not cat cut (they wouldn't end up square and clients hate that). They can be hell to deploy if they come off a cold truck. I do like this idea for personal use
