    JRB large quilt storage

I just got my new Katahdin large quilt and would like to store it in the zip top container it was shipped in. Would this be too much compression? How about storing the smaller, normal sized quilts like this?
    Many thanks!

I remember their quilts coming in a clear zippered bag that you see comforters come in. It is probably OK but I don't like any compression for storage because my quilts get plenty when i am hiking. I store mine in mesh laundry bag that I got form the dollar store.

To store all my under and over quilts, I purchased a number of clear, see through Rubbermaid containers and drilled holes on each side and the top lid of the container. I buy a size that each quilt can fit uncompressed and "fluffed up".

The drilled holes allow each quilt to breathe and its see through so I can easily tell which quilt is which.

I store all my bags and quilts under the spare beds. It drives the wife nuts but it keeps the cat happy.

If my sleeping bags don't come with oversized mesh bags ... which most do ... I use either the large mesh storage bags from REI. Or as with my KAQ ... I bought one of their large cotton bags.

Either one works and keeps all uncompressed and easy to hang or store. Take up a lot less room than some other options I've tried. Have a CAMP7 down bag that's held up for over 34 years with this storage system.

I buy mesh laundry bags (like Dutch) from the dollar store, and hang the quilts up in them from nails in the rafters of the basement. It's a cheap bag, with lots of ventilation, and stores them uncompressed. (it also helps that I have a dehumidifier in the basement).

I have the JRB Hudson River and a Snugfit. They both came in these kind of bags. Is it not ok to store them in that bag that they come in? It doesn't seem to compress them much.

No harm done. I use the original Speer and JRB bags for storage as well.
