    Yeah. I think the center is usually ok, but as the bend gets tighter than 90* the forces applied go up mucho. I'm not an engineer but I think that 180* would provide 3x mechanical advantage. Someone will come along and correct me in 1...2...3... Anyhow, this is why it's best to keep the pulled through strap as straight as practical, even though it can be a bit of a PITA to keep it from sliding down the tree.
