Hello from Ohio!

Hello everyone,

I just started hanging this past summer during a 4 day hiking trip in the Porcupine Mountains in the Upper Peninsula of MI. It was fantastic. I'll never go back to sleeping on the ground again if I don't have to. Anyone else here from NE Ohio? I thought I'd add a picture from the trip. We camped right on Lake Superior. My setup is a ENO DoubleNest with a Jacks-R-Better Cat Tarp. Worked like a charm. I'm really looking forward to learning to make my own gear!

lapsjd, welcome! Looks like you are off to a great start. I'm a former Buckeye growing up in the small town of Ashland. There's a lot of nice folks in here with tons of great information. Enjoy!

I'm from Western PA... hopefully we'll get enough folks together for an Ohio/Pennsylvania hang in the not-too-distant-future.

There's a lot of great advice here, and people have been wonderful about sharing info.

You've got a great looking camp there!

Take a look at the HF home page, and click on the Google map for folks in your area.

Nice camp site, I would love to head out that way, everyone here has me wanting to travel and go to all the cool places around the country with cool pics of killer hanging spots. Welcome, come on in join the cool kids and enjoy the cool aid.
