My friend owned a sewing machine repair shop for 15 years, I bet he's got a spare foot somewhere.
I was just looking through my feet and I don't have any idea anymore what some of them are for. Biggest waste of money was a button foot. Sewing a button is more easily done by just using the standard presser foot. hahaha

Which size rolled hem foot do you use? I found one online that said for thin fabric, but it said it makes 1/8" hems. That seams really small.

That is the one. Mine makes a 1/8" rolled hem. Nice and narrow, which is much easier to do on curves.

I would be concerned if you were sewing denim or corduroy, but the fabric used to make hammocks or tarps should be okay on a corner.
    Great, thanks!

How to sew a rolled hem with a *rolled hem foot* on outdoor fabrics

I think I will want several sizes. For a hammock, I would estimate either 3/8 or 1/2 if I am adding a knotty mod (probably 3/8). 1/8 would be too small to fish the elastic through.

There would be no fishing elastic through the seams my 1/8" foot makes. It is tight.

My machine manufacturer does not make a 1/2" foot. Booo. I am very curious about the wider widths.

These are some snapshots of the cat curves on my winter tarp that I sewed with my 1/8" rolled hem foot. As you can see, I'm getting a nice result, and I am even able to include the tie-outs into the rolled hem, making for a nice finish.

It is cold as the arctic outside, but I pitched the tarp on the back patio to take these pics. I hope you enjoy!

Wow, incorporating the tie-out reinforcement fabric into that tiny rolled hem... That's another level right there! Bravo! I'll need a lot more practice before pulling that off.
