Well, my hammock and JRB Hammock Hut are set up and ready to go. This is my first time setting up "in the field" with the whoopie slings. I still need 10' straps in my yard (large trees), so I'm mostly saving weight by losing the weight of carabiners and cinch buckles.

Thanks! You too. It's 25F here right now with a very low wind chill, stiff wind. I'm getting psyched!

We're looking at a 1 degree wind chill here tonight. It's going to drive me into the hot tub, not the hammock. Good luck!

    I am so jealous.

    WELL...??? How did it go???

For me... I waited until I was ready to go to bed, changed into clothes that I would have in my backpack.... longjohn bottoms, very thin silk camisole, long sleeve thin wool pull-over top, smartwool socks, thin liner gloves, crocs on feet, down jacket and went outside. Oh my...it was soooo cold out there!!! And very windy. Got into my hammock and took off the jacket, stuffed the jacket at my head end of hammock because if you have noticed yet, I forgot to put something on my head!!! Zipped up my weathershield, laid down and and and.... well it started to get hot... Had to remove my gloves and socks (hung them over my little clothes line that I have inside my hammock). Went to sleep, slept till 8am when my husband let my big dog out and he came over to me and woofed at me!!! On my hammock... I have my home made under quilt and my home made over quilt. I'm using my home made tarp too instead of the Clark tarp. This was all I had out there and all my gear (well, the tarp I made is 9x10 and I've decided it's not long enough but it worked fine) anyways, all my gear worked VERY well. I slept very warm and toasty. My under quilt worked extreamly well. No problems with condensation... I left about a 6" gap with the weathershield near my head plus I've got the Tropical Clark and the head end is more open than the NA model. I'm real happy with my results... I think the temps went to 22 with a wind chill in the low teens.
So how did the rest of you'all do.....
