I went ultra simple : shock cord loop larks headed to my tarps grosgrain loop w/ a 4' piece of reflect it larks headed to that. I attach it to my stake via marlin spike hitch. My ridge line is a zing it CRL w/ bling from dutch. No knots to untie and super easy to take it all down when its time.

I have some plastic line tensioners that came with some cheap guy lines. It has three holes in it, and I'm thinking I ought to be able to use it like a tarp worm? Put it on the tarp with a shock cord loop, and then just run the line through the middle hole, and do the same fastening as with the worms. Any trouble with that?
Also wonder if 2mm shock cord is good enough?

There is nothing as easy to secure as a cam-jam.
A small fixed loop over the stake, clip it to the tie-out and pull to tension.

I would think a Dutch Wasp, larks-headed to the d-ring would be a possible solution . Leave your guy lines attached permanently to the stake. No knots and the wasp has a large enough body to maybe resolve your issue.
Be worth a try, and not much financial risk, as you could always find a buyer for the wasps, if you found them to also be problematic.

I know it's not the lightest gear, and it's a lot of stuff, but I use a canoe, so it's a lot like car camping, but without the other cars.
mini UCR on the tie out with a small fixed loop that fits your stake.
Put the stake in the ground, pull the tarp tight and milk the UCR bury. Done.
To undo, simply slide the bury undone and it pops right off.
Bonus: if the the stake ever comes out, the small fixed loop on the mini-UCR will keep the stake attached to the line (given you're using MSR groundhog style Y-stakes)

The small metal Figure 9's work fine with Lash/Zing-it. I usually go through the "teeth" twice for good measure, but they hold fine with one pass. I use them on my ridge line w/1.75mm Zing-it.

I think these are the absolute best. I bought a kit for each of my tarps, but toss the green rope that comes with them and use 2mm glowire instead. They're small, lightweight and plastic so I don't worry about the metal doing damage (but that's probably overly cautions). I haven't had an issue with them in over 5 years; they always hold. The best part is the mechanical advantage you get when tightening; it's super easy to get your tarp snare-drum tight (if you want).
