Thanks for the background info. My little brother is also a youth pastor, so I have some concept of the amount of time and attention you need to devote to it.
From all I've heard you make some beautiful gear, and I look forward to someday owning something you (or your sub-contractor!) made!

Thanks Storm Crow, I am very impressed with Scotts work, and from what I have seen yours as well.. Instead of getting the down maybe I should have gotten a quilt..lol

The DIY stuff has got me nervous, and now my new machine is in the shop...

figures.. But all of the vendors here on the site have wonderful products.

    Thanks

Scott's got my money, and I'm on the list for a Winter Dream in Treebark Brown. With any luck, I'll get it in time for Mt. Rogers.

    Thanks for the pics Pak-Man.

Looks like you had some pretty good wind there. That shock cord (tensioned for holding the "wings" up and out of the way for good weather) looks like it's not sturdy enough for closing the ends off properly. At least, not at the length I send them out in. You'll want to either use thicker shock cord - or tie a loop into the shock cord at the proper placement to run the cord to the opposing stake and bring the clip back to the loop. I doubt it, but it may even be long enough to just double back to the D-ring. Let me know what you think once you've played around with it some more.

What would work really well would be Opie's shock cord tensioned guy-lines. I bet you could even have him add a longer section of shock cord for the "wings" so they're more forgiving when you get in and out.

Man oohh man sure glad I got on the list before the official announcement (and I still got a month wait but worth every second)...And Scott, ill also offer (if you want) you can take pictures of the tarp you are makeing for me. I got mine in black with side pullouts ...cant wait to get it...gonna look bad a$$ over my WBBB. And that new tree bark color looks really cool but im still glad I got the black.

I know, I know. I'm sorry. But I'm afraid that you won't be the only one. New and innovative ideas are always coming down the pike and I'm always trying to improve the system and design.

...Scott you thinking about a V3 yet ...
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

Here are some shots of one of Scott's Winter tarps...(sorry for the long delay in posting, Scott!!!). (Click on the images to expand!)

Scott added side tie-out points at my request...not needed in this setup (no wind!).

This is without tarp...WBBB with Paul Gibson's BBO installed. MW4 UQ.

You bet it will. This Black Winter Dream is going to look fantastic! In fact... if I ever get enough time to actually make myself a tarp (the cobbler's kids have no shoes syndrome) - I may do black to go with my black 1.1 WBBB.

Speaking of Black. At the end of January I plan to be able to offer Black Ultrasil, 1st quality, by the yard in the webstore (along with Treebark Brown - Skylite silnylon, 1st quality, as well).

    Of course.

There are some plans kicking around in my head to vastly improve on the quick close system. The loops and clips on the "doors" serve their purpose, but are not useful (in my opinion) for overnight weather protection. They leave too large a gap (1"-1.5"). I have an idea that will give complete enclosure, and will be more sure than velcro. Lots of material sourcing and testing to do there though - it could be a while (plus, I have to get ahead of my orders, which is proving to be a real problem).

And there are some more changes and additions coming down the pike as well.
