    Rig from basement rafters

Well here's my cozy basement setup. Only one problem...can't get my daughter out of it. Guess it's time to get one for her. http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/a...pictureid=1931

How do you have the hammock attached to the rafters? Are the rafters exposed?
    I ride a recumbent.
I like to HAM it up on the CW.
    I use Linux.
    I play go.
Of course I sleep in a hammock!

LOL my wife took that before my daughter kicked me out of it. There is a pic in my gallery of her. She doesn't have any tattoos yet.

I utilized a hole that was already there from electrical use on one end and put another one about 17 feet away. It is hung perpendicular with the rafters. I ran a length of 550 paracord 3 times and tied off with a double half hitch. Hammock is attatched with a carabiner at each end to the paracord. Oh yeah and the rafters are exposed.

I've broken 550 cord twice trying to hang from it. I cut it off the parachute myself so I know it was the real thing.

I'd recommend replacing it with webbing or spectra.
