NEHHA Jan 6-8 Winter Hang report

Hey folks here is the trip report for this past weekend's Hang. As always we had great people to spend the weekend with. I started Thursday night with Raiffnuke and R3l@x coming early to hang out. We had low of 16* Thursday night. Had a great fire and delicious steak cooked over the fire.

Friday morning we woke up to a little bit of mood snow that for me set the tone for the rest of the weekend. The tree boughs were covered with snow which always lifts my spirits. People started trickling in throughout Friday from New York, NH and eastern Mass.
The food started cooking for dinner on Friday and didn't stop until Sunday morning. Temps were in the low 20's both Fri. And Sat. Days and single digits in the evenings. I heard temps around 4* for Saturday evening.

All and all another wonderful weekend spent in the woods with great people. I could not think of a better way to spend my winter birthday.

Posting the pictures I posted on facebook. Got down to my personal lowest at 4*F, stayed pretty toasty with stacked quilts. I had a 20 and a 40 phoenix for UQs, and a 50 and 20 flight jacket for TQs. I'd like to thank everyone that helped me get my rental car unstuck, seems to be becoming a tradition.

Figured I'd add a few more gear shots, and one of me wearing my black rock hat. It's always been to warm to wear the black rock, was happy with how warm it is.

===> GREAT pics guys! Looks like a perfect winter hang! Major jealousy trip here! Place looks the same - even spotted a few trees I hung from before! Timing is everything I guess, as usual. Thanks for posting the pics everyone! You are getting a real beard coming in, Bryan! And I am still jonesing for a Capote like Joanne's!

To get more weekends like this I think we are going to move this hang back a couple of weekends next year to try and maintain more winter like conditions.

Also the spring hang will be the LAST weekend in April at the Pines Campgrounds again in Ashby.

We get pillsbury buttery biscuits in a tube. Pop those open, separate them, put a small hole in the middle and fry them in some veg. Oil for about 3 minutes per side. Then we shake them around in a cinnamon/sugar mixture. Then EAT. I do this with my Boy Scouts to give them something yummy to eat during our campouts.
