    DIY BB&B UQ

Well after a couple weeks on here and purchasing a top quilt I went to bed bath and beyond and purchased some down throws to try my sewing skills. My plan is to take the two throws and Remove the lateral stitching. After I do that I will put no see um down and create baffles for the Down I have extracted from a coat. Than sew either another throw to the back or use some ripstop to see to the back/bottom of the uq. I started last night.

First I took a square column off the entire throw.

Finally got around to finishing pulling the stitches. Here is a picture. Now I am going to sew up my ripstop to the right width and than sew on the baffles.

    I sew things on youtube.
I don’t sew on commission, so please don’t ask. Thanks.

Are you going to double them up with baffles inbetween?

Yes I am. I cut the inner one down by 3 columns. The inner portion I did not remove the stitchings but added the baffles so that I can add down. All said and done I should get 3-4" of loft.

    Got it!

So you will have the loft from both quilts by themselves and then you are adding down to the baffles between both quilt layers?

Yup that's my plan. I am hoping with that design to get down to 20 F. I am going to add about an ounce to each tube.

I am almost done with the baffles and than I will add the suspension channels, stuff with down and than test it out. I am hoping to come in at around 23 oz but we will see. Pictures below.
