Thanks. She's only 6, so she doesn't care at all about privacy, and I'd want to know if she tried to get up in the middle of the night.

I'm planning to test it with both my standard width HG Hex Tarp as well as my 10'x12' Hennessey tarp, which would be similar in size to the HG cuben winter palace for reference.

I have used Dutch's spreader bar with the double whoopie hooks and DIY gathered end hammocks. I was in one hammock and my 3 Year old daughter was in the other. We are very different weights (about 180 different) and there is very significant movement in her hammock when I get in or get out. Less weight difference would probably result in less movement. Other than this issue, it has worked well and I have even successfully gotten out of and back into my hammock (very carefully) without waking her. I haven't tried it out under a tarp however.

I don't think you can make the HG hex tarp work. It almost beckons for a rectangle or a tarp with doors. You can cut the female spreader bar to make it narrower. It is now 36 inches total. I find that I like 32 or 34 but try it and see. the narrow the bar the less it will seesaw and the less of an issue a tarp will be.

I'm wondering if you can use the spreader bars from the RR as the bar spacers for two GEs to hang side by side? Is the dia on the end of the bars the same or will they fit those clip openings?

Thanks, Dutch. I figured the the HG cuben hex might be a bit of a stretch, especially since even with just a single hammock, it can be a bit cramped for two people trying to do chores etc while pinned down in bad weather. So I guess what this really means is that Adam's gonna have to get cracking on a special edition "Double Dutch Tarp", exclusively for use with the Chameleon. I'll let you break that to him.

In the mean time, I'll try it out with some of my larger poly tarps.

I would love to see that video of them two being separated with a spreader bar. LOL
