I have a DIY winter underquilt I made back in winter of 2012. I made this a little different than what is out there and is a combination between a typical underquilt and what the wooki looks like. the construction is big, it is intended for a bigger person as i am 6'3 255lbs. i wanted the sides to not slip on my shoulders and i wanted it from head to toe. this is before the draft collar and before secondary suspension. i used 3/8" shock cord due to the weight and not wanting sag. the stuff sac isn't the greatest, it's a long cylinder. i intended to side strap it or under the hood of my backpack in the winter. it is best used with a gather end open top. i have used it on a wbbb with netting but the high sides of the uq does interact with the bug net in an annoying way. I say 10 or -10F because i have no idea the rest of your set up and how you sleep. sometimes i sleep without using a tarp so wind robs me a little, sometimes i have a 4 season tarp and i build up snow piles around my tarp edge and i am just fine at -10. it all depends really.
