While the snugpak underblankets get good reviews from the people looking for a cheap way to get away from pads, it is universally understood the stock suspension setup is horrible. I ordered a set of snugpak quilts to upgrade my sons setup and I've been watching videos and reading up trying to figure out how we wanted to hang it. First off, the shock cord it comes with is huge and doesn't work well with any of the Dutch bling I ordered so I swapped it out with 1/8" cord I had laying around the house. I might end up getting something a little thicker for the main suspension part later because the weight really makes you stretch this 1/8" a lot to hold the quilt up. Instead of using a long piece of cord down each side I used 1 long piece and looped it up one side and down the other through the channels. On the looped end it goes on a Tato hanger and a Tato ridgeline quilt hook.
On the end where the ends meet I've used a set of double cord locks between the hanger and hook to be able to adjust the cord.
The weight of the quilt definitely made and accordion effect so I used a 2nd piece of 1/8 shock cord on each end and ran it from the quilt hook to the loop on the corner of the quilt, down to the tab that the original shock cord was on, and then back up and connected it with a double cord lock. This acts as a secondary suspension and as a cinch to close up the end and help with gaps.
We haven't had a chance to try it out yet and I'm sure there will be adjustments that need to be made, but we are hopeful.
