C&O towpath this time of year

Has anyone been out to the C&O towpath this time of year? It looks like the weather will be good this week. I want to take my fat bike out for a few overnights. Should have my new traveler sock from warbonnet but don't know if I'll need it but want to try it out. Should be fun.

What part of the C&O? I can't speak to the trail conditions right now, but it's not that hammock friendly. Definitely take some extra long tree straps!

I will start in Cumberland, MD. Went last year and really didn't have a problem hanging. Some sites are better than others. It's been great up here in Western NY weatherwise so I'm assuming MD will be a bit milder. Just getting the itch.

It's really muddy right now down my way. Forecast for the week.

I did it one time two days after a heavy rain it was a mudfest. It was slow through quite a few miles of mud. The great Allegheny passage would be better trail surface
